vonnivice This album builds a world and explores some of the smallest facets of it with flowing fun verses and funky beats. every track can easily be a self contained fascinating tale, but all together, it's a wild journey. spinitch and Chaz have fantastic chemistry and create guides to this ride that sometimes butt heads or challenge each other's perspectives, and the featured artists spice up every track they grace. absolutely flawless, just listen for yourself!! Favorite track: Antithesnails.

about

Portland-based rap duo spinitch and Chaz Matador (fka Smyth and Este) are unleashing their first collaborative project in almost six years. Over that period since their neophyte sketches, the two developed their respective crafts in separate chambers. Chaz released a slew of EP's, starred in the indie flick "I Need You Dead," and co-wrote the upcoming feature film "Flapjax," while spinitch released a string of solo projects, produced for Wynne, Milc, and more, and played dozens of gigs on the turntables and/or mic.

The LP, BOXORAMA, takes listeners on a psychedelic, road-trip-buddy-comedy, finding spinitch and Chaz as movers beholden to a magic box, its mercurial power and its mysterious owner, Ms. Dotson. As their adventure unfolds, a menagerie of disparate characters and narratives emerge from the seemingly mundane items in the box. Spanning from a factory worker in love with an electric blanket, to a sentient vending machine seeking self preservation at all costs, spinitch and Chaz traverse the tapestry of stories while attempting to locate the ever-elusive Ms. Dotson's new home.

A slow-burn with many a flicker, they sought to create BOXORAMA by their own rules, or not at all. The album took nearly three — equally painstaking and jocular — years from inception to release. spinitch drove the production and mixing, and both of them handled the world-building and rapping. The journey is sure to astound the acquainted and hypnotize the uninitiated.
